Around the Sound in Sumner, WA Settled in 1853, the town of Sumner was thought to have been named for Ezra Meeker's wife, Eliza Jane Sumner. But another tale has three townsmen putting names in a hat at the local post office, and Sumner won. Today, this quaint little town of 9,000 residents is filled with country charm, delicious eats, and some great shopping.
