Sarkisian: ‘We Got To Bang That Door Open’

Every opportunity the program has had to seemingly take that proverbial “next step” has come and gone without being seized. Washington head coach Steve Sarkisian is tired of being “right there.” This week the Huskies are preparing for a sturdy test against an explosive Oregon State offense which is ranked second in the FBS with an average of 396.3 passing yards per game behind quarterback Sean Mannion and stalwart wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

Two Prolific Passing Offenses Will Face Off Saturday In Martin Stadium

Last year, Oregon St. held WSU to 207 yards passing, intercepted four passes and won 19-6. The Beavers forced Halliday to the bench after he went 9-for-20 passing for 81 yards and three picks. Both teams have changed, of course, so it remains to be seen how much can be gathered from last year’s contest.

Washington’s offensive line has been decimated by injuries and quarterback Keith Price continued to struggle last week at Arizona when he committed three turnovers, raising his total to 10 over the past three games.
