On Thursday, November 15, it’s the American Cancer Society’s 37th annual Great American Smokeout! It’s a day for smokers to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and quit smoking that day.
Target is joining more than 30 food companies that have agreed to eliminate the cages, including retailers like Kirkland, WA based Costco and Kroger and producers including Smithfield, Hormel and Cargill.
It’s already against Washington state law to discriminate against public breastfeeding, but the Seattle City Council on Monday specifically made it illegal for businesses and other entities to ask nursing moms to stop, cover up or move to a different location in public areas.
According to the Seattle Times, JCP is no longer planning to open a location in the downtown Kress building at Third and Pike. Penney bought the Kress building in October, 2011 for an estimated $29 million.
