Settled in 1853, the town of Sumner was thought to have been named for Ezra Meeker’s wife, Eliza Jane Sumner. But another tale has three townsmen putting names in a hat at the local post office, and Sumner won. Today, this quaint little town of 9,000 residents is filled with country charm, delicious eats, and some great shopping.
