Ousted UCLA basketball coach Ben Howland, who was fired two days after the Bruins were eliminated from this year’s NCAA tournament, held a press conference Monday afternoon.
Romar Says He Hasn’t Been Contacted By UCLA
Washington coach Lorenzo Romar says he’s had no contact from UCLA regarding the Bruins’ head coaching position. Romar was asked about the UCLA job Monday during his season-ending news conference. Romar said it’s understandable his name gets brought up with the UCLA vacancy.

No. 23 UCLA rolled into Pullman on Wednesday night as the hottest team in the Pac-12, and the Bruins hadn’t lost here since 1993. They rolled out of town as 73-61 losers to last-place Washington State, a defeat that seriously damaged the Bruins’ hopes of winning the conference title.
