Keith Price and Washington’s offense finally broke out, with the quarterback throwing for two touchdowns and running for another, and Washington become bowl eligible for the third straight season with a 34-15 win over Utah on Saturday night.
At first the goal for Steve Sarkisian was getting Washington back to respectability. Then came a bowl game. And another. Now in his fourth season, the Huskies have made incremental progress under Sarkisian with new benchmarks reached each season.
Earlier this season Washington State coach Mike Leach called some of his seniors empty corpses. After losing 49-6 to Utah on Saturday, he said, “That could have been a zombie convention out there.”
