Study: NBA Team Could Move To Virginia Beach In 2013

An economic study prepared for the Virginia Beach Development Authority suggests an unnamed NBA team could move to Virginia as soon as next year by playing its first two seasons in various arenas around the state while a permanent home is built near the Virginia Beach oceanfront.

The chances of Seattle acquiring an NBA team in the near future may have just gotten slim. Reports have surfaced saying the Sacramento Kings could be moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. According to an article posted on the website of Norfolk-based Hampton Roads Business Journal, Virginia Beach officials and the Maloof family are expected to announce the move on August 29.
