The Huskies were led by freshman point guard Nigel Williams-Goss who scored 15 points and delivered four assists. Leading-scorer and All-Pac-12 guard C.J. Wilcox was held to just eight points on 2-for-10 shooting from the field including 0-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Washington State did make a run in the second half. The team exploded for 43 points behind a 20-6 run that enabled the Cougars to close a 54-35 deficit at the 6:46 mark to a 60-55 game with 56 seconds left.
Spencer Dinwiddie scored 20 points and Colorado picked up a much-needed win at the Pac-12 tournament, holding off Oregon State 74-68 in the first round on Wednesday.
