The laid-back attitude of Seattleites lends the community to throw large celebrations and local eateries to gather for non-structured celebrations. Most large communities around the Puget Sound area have their own fireworks displays. Many of the area restaurants and bars offer great viewing areas for the fireworks and festivities. Each has their own policies for reservations on the fourth of July.

Tillicum Village is spectacular to visit at any time of the year, but the Fourth of July brings about a very special celebration for all ages. The event begins with a tour boat ride to Blake Island, a buffet Pacific Northwest dinner and front row seating for the Bainbridge fireworks show. Adults (13 +) and seniors (65 +) are $110, children (4 to 12) are $72, and children under 4 are free. Registration for the celebration can be made online or at the ticket booth on Pier 55. It is advisable to make reservations early.

Emerald Downs is located in south end in Auburn. This celebration starts with horse races at 4:30 p.m. The full schedule will be announced in mid-June. This is an all-ages celebration. It is advisable to purchase tickets to this event early, and via phone. The entrance fee is $7 for adults, and seat fees are $10. The event is free for children 17 and under.

This is an all-day party to celebrate the fourth of July. Historically, this community celebration is in its 109th year. This year, it starts out with a 5K, and ends with a great fireworks show at the end of the day. The day includes two parades, one for the children and the other is the larger 4th of July parade. Mid-day includes the firemen waterball competition. The waterfront restaurants are open for meals throughout the afternoon and evening. The evening events at the Civic Stadium start at 6 p.m., including food booths and the fireworks display at 10 p.m. This is a free event.

Seafair Summer Fourth is the largest event in the Seattle area. It happens from noon to 11 p.m. at Gasworks Park on Lake Union. The day is filled with food booths, live music, and a 21 + beer and beverage garden. This is a great outdoor event for families, adults or friends. The fireworks display starts at 10:20 p.m. Tickets for the best seating in the park cost $30. Otherwise, it is entrance is free.

The Champagne Lady is one of four cruise ships operating on the 4th of July Fireworks event. The ship will be departing from the AGC Marina on Lake Union and giving party goers a front row seat to the Lake Union fireworks. The celebration includes dancing to a local DJ before and after the fireworks, snacks and beverages for purchase, and a great view of the city/fireworks.The ticket price is $85. This a 21 and older cruise.
