Washington Beer Commission’s 2011 Winter Beer Festival will showcase a variety of winter seasonals from 30 Washington breweries. Once again, this year’s beer lineup will include dark malty stouts, robust winter warmers, barrel-aged gems and many more. In addition, they’ll be chocolate pairings courtesy of Theo Chocolate, fine pub cuisine by Hales Brewpub and a holiday gift shop.

A benefit for Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, this year celebrates the 25th Annual Festival of Trees – “The Spirit of Giving”. During the first week of December, each year, the Festival of Trees brings the sights and sounds of the holidays to the families of Southwestern Washington with a glittering display of approximately 70 exquisitely decorated trees.
Each tree is trimmed with holiday presents, trips and other marvelous gifts. Set in a fairy-tale wonderland with special theme days and events, gift shops, photos with Santa, two elegant evenings of dining and entertainment, and the season’s most exciting auction of trees and wreaths, the Festival truly is the holiday event of the season! Julefest celebration beginning with a Sons of Norway bazaar starting at 10:00am. Hayrides through the downtown Poulsbo shopping area beginning at 11:00am. Beginning at 4:00pm, it’s Christmas music around the Christmas tree on the waterfront. At 5:00pm the Lucia Bride will arrive by boat with the Vikings. Father Christmas and the Lucia Bride will light the Christmas tree.

See the Winterfest Parade and the Kent Mayor present Santa with the key to the city. Kids of all ages can enjoy the Holiday Story Time, a giveaway from Downtown Merchants, ornament making , and riding on a carousel. Listen to local choirs and school bands performing holiday classics and carols. Warm yourself with drinks and snacks. At 5:30pm see the lighting of the 40 foot Christmas Tree and the lighting of the entire Town Square while listening to music.
