Vulcan Real Estate’s SLU campus celebrated a banner year in 2011, opening commercial and retail space around the south end of Lake Union, and their plans are to continue to expand into 2013. Just this month, three new eateries have opened in SLU, bringing more options for you at breakfast and lunch.

Einstein Bros. Bagels
2201 Westlake Avenue
Seattle, WA 98121

The first Einstein Bros. to open in Seattle, the Einstein Noah Restaurant Group is the parent company to Noah’s Bagels, which already has a popular presence in the Puget Sound. More than just a bagel and cream cheese, Einstein Bros. offers morning egg sandwiches, snacks, lunches with soups and salads off their “Lighter Side” menu, cookies and treats, and espresso drinks. The Portland, OR area Einstein Bros. offers catering, and presumably the Seattle location will in the near future. The shop is open from 5:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and 6:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The Wurst Place
510 Westlake Ave. N
Seattle, WA 98109

An obvious play on words, the newly opened “Wurst Place” has got your favorite bratwurst, whether it’s gourmet game, traditional or vegetarian. Belgian style frites with dipping sauces, 23 taps featuring European & PNW microbrew biers/wines/ciders/root beers plus tons of art, and lots of knockers and gnomes. Vegetarian and Gluten free options are ALWAYS available. They’re open late on weeknights, so you can grab a bite ’till 10:00pm Monday – Thursday, 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday. They say it themselves – we’re not fine dining, we’re swine dining.
