Seattle’s lively party scene isn’t one to be missed this year, especially on Mardi Gras. Set aside a day, a night or a few of both to dig in to the Feb. 21 tradition that is Fat Tuesday — and its surrounding weekends — in Seattle.

Hours: Mon to Sat – lunch 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (no lunch Sat); dinner 3 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Featuring a continuously rotating schedule of live music, The New Orleans is hosting a week-long Mardi Gras celebration building up to the grand finale Fat Tuesday boasting alligator gumbo, homemade peach cobbler and New Orleans’ signature Hurricane cocktails.

Seattle Mardi Gras Pub Crawl to Venice is Sinking: A Venetian Masked Carnival Ball

Time: Crawl- 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Venice – 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Organized by Dave LeClair, this public event runs from downtown to Club Sur’s Venetian Masked Carnival Ball. This is typically a 500-person party, plenty of fun for everyone. LeClair advises guests to dress warmly and inappropriately for this event. The pub crawl is a free for all, but anyone who wants to finish it up sinking in Venice at the carnival ball must purchase tickets in advance.

I Love Glam! Mardi Gras Ball

Time: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

This 21-and-older, semi-formal event supports Seattle Area Support Groups and Community Center. Check in and cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., with a full evening of events including raffles, auctions and dessert-dash races. Marti Gras 2012 Masquerade Parade & Carnival

Tickets: $35 advance/$50 door/$100 VIP
Date: Feb. 21, 2012
Time: 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Beginning with an appetizer buffet, this party will transform several times throughout the night as guests compete for prizes and the title of best dressed. At 8 p.m., eight fashion designers will compete in an extravagant fashion show with special performances including kung fu fashion and dance troupes. Festivities continue after the show with dancing until 1 a.m.

Seattle Erotic Ball

A little on the wild side, the Seattle Erotic Ball features world class DJs, burlesque performances, fire dancers, and a $1,000 prize costume contest for Seattle’s Sexiest Couple. This is a 21-and-over event only.  Break out the glitter and masks and check this unforgettable party.
