Valentine’s Day is a popular day for marriage proposals. If you’re thinking about popping the question, we’ve got five of the most romantic proposal sites in Puget Sound.

Salish Lodge & Spa

6501 Railroad Avenue
Snoqualmie, WA 98065

425 Magazine declared the Salish Lodge & Spa one of their “Best Places to Propose” in their readers’ 2011 poll. Salish Lodge & Spa overlooks the 268-ft Snoqualmie Falls. This iconic Pacific NW lodge has a world-renowned spa, award winning restaurant and a variety of nearby recreational activities. You can ask for a room with a view of the spectacular Snoqualmie Falls, see the falls from the lodge’s restaurant,  or you can take a short walk for a romantic proposal site. Snoqualmie Falls is one of Washington state’s most popular scenic attractions with over 1.5 million visitors each year. Call for reservations.

Ruston Way

Tacoma, WA 98402

Named “Best Place to Propose” by 2011 South Sound Magazine readers, you’ll find panoramic views of Commencement Bay, Vashon Island and the Olympic Mountains along Ruston Way. The two-mile long scenic waterfront is a great place for walking, jogging, or… proposing! Public art projects add interest on your walk down Ruston, where you’ll also find several restaurants for that post-proposal toast or dinner.

The Space Needle

Probably the most iconic building along the Seattle skyline. Built for the 1962 World’s Fair, the views are spectacular from the Observation Deck, and the SkyCity Restaurant atop the Needle rotates 360 degrees, allowing you to take in each course of the city as you take in each delicious course of your meal. The elevator ride and Observation Deck are free when you dine at SkyCity. Celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2012, your proposal can be a part of Space Needle history! Call for reservations.

2576 Aurora Avenue North
Seattle, WA 98109

Named by Open Table as one of the 100 most romantic restaurants of 2012, locally owned Canlis is a Seattle institution known for its outstanding service, fine wine and Northwest cuisine. Not only is there a main dining room in the restaurant, but Canlis is happy to offer you a private dining room for your romantic proposal. The Caché is an intimate room originally built as the owner’s office. This treetop niche has quickly become the single hottest table in town. The Caché is both intimate and exhilarating: set with a warmly lit table, the spectacular view sweeps across Lake Union and the Cascades beyond. Your own room. Your own server. Your own Canlis. Amenities include a telescope, sound system, and chaise lounge. Call for reservations.

Alki Beach Park

1702 Alki Ave. SW
Seattle, WA 98116

Alki Beach Park is a long beach strip that runs from Alki Point to Duwamish Head on Elliott Bay. It’s a great spot for a 2.5 mile walk any time of year. You can build a fire in one of the beach fire pit containers. Bring a picnic, and a blanket, and let the sand, water and waves help you pop the question.
