This yearly festival supplies a great mixture of Polish food and culture. The main magnet is the All-You-Can-Pierogi event, which is a Polish dumplings extravaganza that serves several kinds of pierogi: meat, potato & cheese, sauerkraut & mushrooms, blueberries, plum etc. New this year, four food booths with other favorites from potato pancakes to bigos (hunter’s stew). Free attractions include folk group performances, craft workshops (make your own pierogi!, or a pickle soup), movies and kids’ activities.

A colorful and traditional rite of spring, the only one of its kind in the world, brings many people to Seattle’s inland waterways as boaters celebrate Opening Day of the boating season. University of Washington crew races for the Windermere Cup starting at 10:20am, and a boating parade starting at 12:00pm. Spectators crowd the shorelines of Seattle’s Portage Bay and Montlake Cut as boats, many of them decorated, parade past judges and spectators watching aboard boats anchored along the parade route.

Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration

Explore and experience the cultural roots of the Asian-Pacific Islands through live performances, visual arts, hands-on activities, foods, games, and a lively marketplace. The festival launches Asian-Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Seattle with spectacular lion dances, youth drill teams, drumming, martial arts, and artists from around the state.

STG will host a free celebration in honor of the international flair present in their upcoming season. To celebrate, and Taste the Season will feature free food, to the first 500 people, provided by Skillet and Rancho Bravo food trucks, demonstrations and performances, featuring international dance and music. The events spotlights STG’s local partners and community resources all day for the community to learn more about programs throughout Seattle, and tons of games, giveaways, and great prizes.
