SEATTLE (AP) — AAA is launching a roadside service for bicycles in Washington.
The company says the new service will begin on Sunday, July 1 and all of its existing members who visit Washington can use it.
Spokeswoman Jennifer Cook says the new service will work like the existing car roadside services, which is based on membership levels.
Under the bicycle service, a stranded bicyclist can call AAA and a crew member will respond and drive the customer to a safe location, be it a bicycle shop or home — depending on the mileage covered by the membership plan.
Similar services have been available in Oregon and southern Idaho. Those states recently announced expansions of the service to all membership levels.
