SEATTLE (CBS SEATTLE) – It drove around the Melvins and grunge rock legend Kurt Cobain and now you can bid for this this unique piece of rock history.

The van, also known as the “Melvan” is being sold by Ben Berg on on eBay.

The former touring van is a brown and white 1972 Dodge Sportsman Royal Van.  However one thing that does make this particularly special is the mural.

On the van’s side is a mural dedicated to the classic rock group, Kiss and was drawn by Cobain himself, with sharpies that were stolen from a Thriftway grocery store in Montesano, Wash.

The van though is not drivable in its current condition.  According to Pitchfork, the van was last taken out in 1998.

Also the license tabs expired in April of 1994, coincidentally when Cobain took his own life.

Assuming that it could be fixed it would make an excellent touring van for your up and coming alt-rock band, or it could be converted to a place to crack open a few beers with a few friends and relive the 90s.

The owner is currently asking for an opening bid of $30,100.
