Who says the Pacific Northwest isn’t romantic?

Seattle’s Amazon.com definitely doesn’t consider our region to be grey and bleak — based of new sales figures from the company, the Pacific Northwest is home to three of the most romantic cities in the country.

The 2013 version of Amazon’s list of the 20 most romantic cities includes Everett, Vancouver (Washington) and Salem. Amazon calculates its rankings based off romantic purchases (through amazon.com) during the month of January. However, a city has to have more than 100,000 people living in it to qualify. Here’s how this year’s list turned out:

1. Knoxville, Tennessee
2. Alexandria, Virginia
3. Miami, Florida
4. Orlando, Florida
5. Cincinnati, Ohio
6. Vancouver, Washington
7. Dayton, Ohio
8. Murfreesboro, Tennessee
9. Columbia, South Carolina
10. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
11. Round Rock, Texas
12. Clearwater, Florida
13. Las Vegas, Nevada
14. Salem, Oregon
15. Erie, Pennsylvania
16. Everett, Washington
17. Rochester, New York
18. Clarksville, Tennessee
19. Tallahassee, Florida
20. Billings, Montana

Romance novels, relationship advice books, Barry White albums and a variety of sexual wellness products were some of the top-selling items to the 20 cities.

Amazon says this is the second year in a row that Knoxville has topped the list.

Boise, Idaho is considered the least romantic out of all qualifiers.
