SEATTLE (CBS Seattle) – Christmas came early for one Reddit user who, as fate would have it, was presented with a gift from billionaire Bill Gates through the website’s “Secret Santa.”

According to her post on Reddit Gifts, a woman identified only as Rachel received a surprise package from the founder of Microsoft which included a stuffed cow and a National Geographic travel book. In addition, he made a donation of an actual cow to a family through a charity called Heifer International.

The package also included a note of explanation from Gates himself, as well as a picture of himself holding some of the items included in the care package.

“Don’t worry – you will not have to build a barn,” he joked in the card. “This cow will be given to a family in need, in your name, through Heifer International.”

Reddit user Rachel was thrilled with both his gifts and his participation.

“I feel SO shocked and excited that not only did I receive a gift from Bill, but it was perfectly and EXACTLY tuned into my interests,” she wrote. “My gosh, what a rush!!”

Rachel added later in her post, “Thank you so much Bill for a fantastic and thoughtful gift. I’d really love to send a thank you card to you, but if not, I hope this post and message suffices [sic].”

At the end, Rachel also offered Gates an apology for one of the items on her wish list.

She noted, “Sorry for the apple ipad [sic] on my wishlist, that was really awkward.”
