SEATTLE (AP) — With a leak in its stern freshly patched at a Vancouver, British Columbia, dry dock, the Washington state ferry Wenatchee returned to service Friday on the Edmonds-Kingston route.

Washington State Ferries says that allows the Chelan to return to a route through the San Juan Islands, resuming service Saturday between Anacortes and Sidney, British Columbia.

The ferry system had to shuffle ferries after the Tacoma lost power Tuesday on the Seattle-Bainbridge Island run. Spokeswoman Marta Coursey (coor-SAY’) says there’s no estimate yet on how long repairs will take or when the Tacoma will return.

When the Wenatchee and Tacoma went out of service for repairs, two other ferries were out for scheduled maintenance, leaving little flexibility in the 22-vessel fleet.
