Urban Outfitters is no stranger to controversy – the hipster-targeted store has often sold items that raise a few eyebrows. This latest controversy, however, not only seems to go too far – but hits pretty close to home.

The retail store is selling a sweatshirt for our own Kent State University – but instead of a plain sweater or one featuring the Kent State golden flashes logo – the sweater is covered in faux red blood stains. Like – blood everywhere with splatter marks kind of blood stains.

The sweater is in reference to the historic Kent State shootings in 1970 where four unarmed students were shot and killed by campus police. An incident so historic Neil Young wrote his song “Ohio” about it.
