PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS Seattle/AP) – The cuddling business has been so good for Samantha Hess she’s hired three women and opened a shop in Portland offering platonic touching sessions.
Hess tells KPTV business has taken off at her Cuddle Up To Me shop. “I’ve gotten as many as 10,000 emails in a week,” she tells the station.
When she started the business last year, Hess would meet clients at locations of their choosing.
“We can customize each session depending on your comfort level,” Hess told KPTV. “So, I have people who will come in and we won’t touch at all. We’ll just sit and read together.”
The shop has four rooms. Cameras record the sessions for safety. An hour of cuddling costs $60.
“People always think that there’s upgrades or, you know, additional services that we provide, and that’s not true,” Hess added. “It’s a simple service. It’s the same for a man or a woman. We are a family-oriented service. We’re not adult-oriented in any way. We just make people feel loved and accepted for who they are.”
