CHUATHBALUK, Alaska (AP) — A southwest Alaska man on probation following a felony burglary conviction has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into a village school.

Alaska State Troopers say 36-year-old Andrew David Alexie was jailed on suspicion of burglary at Chuathbaluk (choo-AWTH’-bah-luk) School.

Trooper say a man early Tuesday forced his way into the school through a window but left when he was confronted by personnel inside.

Alexie was arrested at his home. Troopers say he was in possession of burglary tools.

Alexie was jailed in Bethel.

Chuathbaluk is a village of 134 about 87 air miles northeast of Bethel and 310 miles west of Anchorage. It was formerly known as Russian Mission.
