SEATTLE (CBS) — An MRI for Seattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano has confirmed a grade abdominal strain.

Cano reportedly first felt the injury while making a play on the field earlier this week. He was out of the lineup for the Mariners’ series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which saw Seattle loose 8-2 to fall to 10 games below .500 for the first time this season.

Cano will likely be sidelined for a couple games, according to The Seattle Times, but manager Lloyd McClendon expects him to travel with the team Thursday when the Mariners face the Minnesota Twins for a four-game series.
