SEATTLE (CBS Seattle) — We’ve become used to getting just about anything from Amazon.com, but how about a frosty beer or a fine wine?
Well, Amazon’s trying to cover that, too. The online retailer announced that Amazon Prime Now will deliver booze, including hard alcohol, free to your door in just two hours. One hour if you pay $7.99.
The service will only be offered in the Seattle area, at first.
Residents in parts of Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland will be eligible for the service.
A company spokesperson tells BuzzFeed News the delivery options will eventually be rolled out to other American cities: “Like with any product offering, we will evaluate customer response and if customers love the convenience of having alcohol delivered in under an hour right to their doors then we’ll look to expand the offering.”
A delivery person will check for a valid ID before dropping off any alcohol.
The spokesperson promises beer will be delivered ice cold.
