The first game of the regular season is usually always a story, but this one just got better.

A judge ruled in favor of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady Thursday, overturning Brady’s four-game suspension. Sorry, Jimmy Garoppolo fans — this one will be Brady vs. Roethlisberger. The Thursday Night kickoff will finally end the football drought for fans. The Pats went from underdogs to 7-point favorites with the addition of their starting QB.

It’s the game fans have been waiting for since the second pick of the 2015 NFL Draft was announced.

Number one pick Jameis Winston will face off against number two pick Marcus Mariota in week 1. The rookies are impressing coaches and reporters in training camp and short preseason appearances.

The 12th man — and the rest of the country — will finally get to see Jimmy Graham in action with Seattle. The tight end, who was brought to Seattle in a trade with New Orleans, has seen some preseason action, but has yet to catch a touchdown pass. The Seahawks have spent a lot of their preseason finalizing their starting offensive line, so it’s no surprise that through those trials, the passing game is struggling a bit. In their first regular season game, it’ll be interesting to see the impact Graham (and new rookies, like Tyler Lockett) have on Seattle’s offense.

Other players to keep an eye on:

Quarterback Sam Bradford was solid in his longest preseason session with the Philadelphia Eagles, completing all 10 of his passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns. We haven’t gotten to see much from Bradford; despite being highly-touted out of college, he has been plagued by injuries throughout his career with St. Louis…

Tyrod Taylor has been named the starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, beating out E.J. Manuel and Matt Cassel. Taylor has spent the majority of his career as a backup with the Baltimore Ravens. He signed with the Bills in March, and has completed 24 of 31 passes (77%) for 236 yards through three preseason games…

New Seahawks rookie wide receiver Tyler Lockett has shined on special teams during the preseason. Against the Denver Broncos, he recorded a 103-yard return touchdown. He recorded another return touchdown (64 yards) against the San Diego Chargers last week. He’s not a big player (5’10”, 182 lbs) but should be explosive for Seattle…
