Sherman’s Tipped Pass

Who can forget Richard Sherman’s now famous tip of a Colin Kaepernick pass to seal a win and a trip to Super Bowl XLVIII? The Seattle Seahawks cornerback leaped to bat down what may have been a game winning pass to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree. The tipped pass was caught by linebacker (later Super Bowl XLVIII MVP) Malcolm Smith.

Seahawks Route 49ers To Clinch Playoff Spot

During a rainy December 23, 2012 contest, the Seattle Seahawks put up a 42-13 route of the San Francisco 49ers to clinch their first playoff spot since 2010. Wilson threw four touchdown passes and Marshawn Lynch ran in another pair of touchdowns. Richard Sherman also returned a blocked field goal for 90 yards (WATCH).

Seahawks Get Biggest Margin Of Victory

The 2005 Seahawks posted another major victory against the 49ers with a 41-3 victory (the largest margin of victory in the history in the Seahawks-49ers series). Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck completed 21-of-25 passes for 226 yards and four touchdowns. The game capped a nine-game win streak for Seattle at the time. (The team would eventually make it to Super Bowl XL.)

 T.O.’s ‘Sharpie’ Touchdown

Seattle’s head coach wasn’t happy with wide receiver Terrell Owens’ touchdown celebration in October 2002. After getting his second touchdown for San Francisco, Owens pulled a sharpie out of his sock and autographed the ball (WATCH). San Francisco got away with the win over Seattle, 28-21. After the game, Mike Holmgren called the celebration “shameful.”
