SEATTLE (CBS) — The Seattle Seahawks (9-6) may have clinched a playoff spot when they defeated the Cleveland Browns earlier this month, but Seattle’s seeding and opponent won’t be decided until the conclusion of Week 17, with a Sunday Night matchup between the Minnesota Vikings (10-5) and Green Bay Packers (10-5).

If Seattle wins Sunday and the Minnesota Vikings lose, Seattle will take the fifth seed and Minnesota the sixth (both teams will have finished 10-6, and Seattle has the tiebreaker over Minnesota). In this scenario, the Seahawks would face No. 4 seed Washington. Green Bay would become the NFC North winner, and play the No. 6 seed Vikings again.

If the Vikings win, Seattle will become the sixth seed regardless of whether or not they beat the Cardinals. In this scenario, even if the Seahawks win they would finish 10-6 — the same record as the Packers (the Packers would take the tiebreaker thanks to their Week 2 victory over Seattle). The Seahawks would go to Minnesota for their first playoff game, and the Packers would travel to face Washington.

If the Packers win and the Seahawks lose, Seattle will become the No. 6 seed and play the Packers at Lambeau Field.
