Seattle and the surrounding area hosts many fun and social Labor Day events. The line up ranges from concerts and festivals to vintage airplanes to a gaming convention. There is something for everyone to enjoy and relax on the last weekend of the summer. It is a great time to get outdoors, and celebrate the last weekend of summer along with the Labor Day holiday.

Nickelback is playing at the Puyallup Fair on Friday evening of Labor Day weekend. The Vancouver BC band is on their Feed The Machine tour. The band will be performing from their new album, and classic Nickelback tunes. This tour is with award-winning Daughtry, named after lead singer, Chris Daughtry from North Carolina. Both of these bands give amazing live performances. Tickets are available online. There are other bands performing through out the duration of the fair.

Four days packed with everything gaming, the PAX Video Game Convention runs for 3 days, Sept. 1st to the 4th.This is one of the biggest video game conventions held in Seattle, and it caters to all ages. This is an all gamers event, and started in 2004 in Bellevue, WA. This years event includes the top 10 indie game picks, industry experts, music, and game play. In addition, the event holds a gaming tournament that spans the entire convention, and winners travel to Japan as the grand prize. Badges for the event are available online.

The Micheal Clune & the Sleep ‘Til Noon Band performs on Labor Day at the Ballard Locks. Their music combines the best of jazz, blues, and contemporary rock into a fusion of melodies suited for all ages. This local band plays on the local music scene for the past 10 years. The band writes and performs original music, and delivers it with passion. This is a free concert.

Vintage Aircraft Weekend

Date: Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 at 10 a.m.

The annual Vintage Aircraft Weekend starts on Sept. 1st and runs through Sept. 3rd. This event showcases airplanes in the era between 1927 and 1957. The show opens on Friday, which ends the day with a live big band dinner dance, swing dance lessons, and period attire. The biggest day of the event is Saturday. The day starts out with VAW speakers. The rest of the day is packed with vintage airplanes, automobiles, military vehicles, interactive exhibits, and flight demonstrations. This event gives views experiences of viewing vintage aircraft both on the ground and in flight. Tickets are available for purchase online.

The annual Bumbershoot Festival runs Sept. 1 through Sept. 3, filled with music, artist booths, and great food. This Seattle classic festival celebrates music and the arts for all ages. Bumbershoot is geared towards older kids and adults, while Youngershoot is for the younger, upcoming generation and their parents. This year includes Yogashoot, which is presented by Corepower. The festival includes music from all genera. Passes for the festival are available online.
