The Seattle Theatre Group (STG) presents a New Year’s Eve concert event with The Black Angels at The Moore Theatre. The Black Angels hail from Austin, Texas, and is known as a psychedelic rock or garage rock type of band. Formed in 2004, the quartet took its name from a song by The Velvet Underground called “The Black Angel’s Death Song.” As of 2013, the band has released five, full-length albums, played Lollapalooza in 2007 and has toured with a number of well-known music groups like Wolfmother, The Black Keys, Queens of the Stone Age and The Horrors.

The Seattle Symphony Orchestra invites all area music lovers to ring in the new year with a festive concert at Benaroya Hall. The New Year’s program will feature conductors Ludovic Morlot and Jeff Tyzik, as well as concert pianist Jon Kimura Parker. Attending guests will enjoy a variety of classic holiday favorites such as Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker,” Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” excerpts from “Star Wars” and much more jazz and classical music selections. After the concert, there will be an after party in Benaroya Hall’s Grand Lobby area for all ticket holders.

The band has played hundreds of venues across the United States, including the Hollywood Bowl, sharing its love for Neil Diamond and his music. Super Diamond has been together for more than a decade and the group is coming to Seattle’s Showbox at the Market venue to celebrate New Year’s Eve with all of the Neil Diamond fanatics out there.
