Seattle is the perfect place to participate in an adventure in flight. The area offers seaplane, war plane and hot air balloon adventures for all age groups. The city is nestled between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, with views of Puget Sound, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains and Mount Rainier. A little north lies the San Juan Islands, the Skagit Delta and Mount Baker. April brings tulips to the Skagit Delta and creates blocks of bright colors from the air. Seattle Seaplanes has been flying charter flights for 15 years. Western Washington is filled with great opportunities to build a dream sight-seeing adventure. Charter flights can be scheduled for one-way or two-way transportation. The planes can land on most bodies of water, and allow the adventuresome to spend a weekend fishing, whale watching or exploring a new area. Kenmore Air was started in 1946 and it’s one of the most dependable air services in the area. It offers two wonderful scenic air tours. The first is a Seattle sightseeing tour. This one is approximately 20 minutes in duration, narrated with historical Seattle information and provides breath-taking views of the city. The second tour is the San Juan Islands. These islands are located just north of Puget Sound, and sit in the banana belt of Washington State. This area is home to abundant wildlife like orca, bald eagles, harbor seals, porpoises and other seabirds. This excursion last approximately two hours.

Warbirds over Washington is a joint venture between the Historic Flight Foundation and Incredible Adventures Company in Florida. This four-day adventure offers an opportunity to fly each of the following airplanes: B-25 (B-25 Bomber), T-6 (North American T-6) and the F7F-3 (Grumman Tigercat). The flights are designed by the client and an expert pilot. The flight could be a trip around Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands, the Cascade Mountains or simple aerial stunts. This adventure can be shared with a family member or friend.

Airial Balloon Company is a fantastic way to relax and take in the view from above. It has been flying hot air balloons for 32 years, and clients have enjoyed the views of the Cascade Mountains, Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. The balloons are nine stories tall and are dependent on the wind to move through their route. The company offers morning and evening flights and fly year round, though flights do depend on the wind and weather.

Over The Rainbow Balloon Flights is located in Woodinville. Its flights are scheduled at sunrise or in the afternoon to take in the sunset. The views include Mount Rainier, Puget Sound, Lake Washington, Seattle and the Olympic Mountains. This company uses different sized balloons to accommodate different size parties. It offers flights seven days a week, and advanced reservations are suggested. Flights run from mid-June to October, due to the unpredictable weather in the Pacific Northwest.
