Seattle’s downtown YMCA facility features a full basketball gymnasium on its sixth floor that has open gym times Monday through Friday, as well as reserved times for adult pickup basketball, teen basketball and regular pickup basketball throughout the week. The only day this YMCA location is not open is on Sunday. Also, some national holidays are observed and cause the facility to close for the day.

Mercer Island’s Community and Event Center features all-ages open gym times on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday and Sunday. You’ll find both full-court and half-court basketball games, and the 10,000 square foot gymnasium also comes equipped with a score clock, electronic score board and working sound system if you like listening to music while you’re playing. The Mercer Island Community Center gym may also be used for volleyball, badminton or pickelball.

While the indoor gymnasium at the Green Lake Community Center is considered one of the smaller facilities in Seattle, it is a popular venue for indoor basketball games including adult pickup games and youth basketball. This Seattle community center is open afternoons and evenings Monday through Friday, and all day on Saturday. Other sports activities you can find at Green Lake Community Center include ultimate frisbee, table tennis, soccer, and rugby.

The Seattle Athletic Club (SAC) in the Northgate neighborhood features a large, indoor basketball court that can be used for full-court or half-court games during lunchtime or evening hours. You can find pickup games in progress almost any weekday and the club’s basketball league also plays on Tuesday evenings. Half-court basketball is open to everyone at any time and full-court games are possible whenever you have at least eight players.

The University of Washington’s Intramural Activities Building (IMA) has six indoor basketball courts, as well as a few outdoor courts. The IMA is a large facility that also features a large indoor swimming pool, a running and walking track, rock climbing walls, volleyball courts, racquetball courts, and squash courts. You can also find weight machines and plenty of work out equipment with their own TVs to keep you entertained while you’re getting fit.
