The Soaring Eagle Trail Run is managed and coordinated by Evergreen Trail Runs. Participants meet at the park entrance. Check in starts at 7 a.m., and the race times are staggered. The race distances are 5k, 10k, half-marathon, marathon, and 50k. This is a trail race through the park, and is a 6.5 mile loop. Online pre-registration closes on May 26, 2016.

The Fremont 5k Walk/Run and Briefcase Relay is a great way to spend a Friday evening. The route is along paved streets and pathways through Fremont. The Fremont Brewery is the location for this event with a beer garden, race registration and/or check in, Briefcase Relay Team Inspection, and the start of the race. The relay consists of 5 team members, and each run 1k before passing off the briefcase or bag to the next team mate. This event benefits the non-profit Family Works.

The Vashon Island Ultramarathon takes place on Vashon Island. The island is only accessible by ferry or private boat. There are 2 races in this event, a 10 mile run or the 50k ultramarathon. These races use the trail system, parks, natural preserves, and private property for the route. This one-of-a-kind race starts at the Open Space for Arts & Community center. There will be a post-race food tent, and the course closes at 5:30 p.m. Contact for the race is via an email form on their website.

The Magnuson Run – Seattle Solstice takes place at Magnuson Park on the shore of Lake Washington. This race covers paved and gravel trails. The walk/run race lengths are 5k, 10k, and 15k. Check-in is 1.5 hours prior to race start time. Each event starts with a 400 meter kids dash, which starts 15 minutes prior race start time. This race is one of a series of monthly races at the park. These events are scheduled, coordinated, and run by Club Northwest and Earth Runs (a non-profit). These are family friendly events, with room for spectators along the course.

The Seattle Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is run through the streets in downtown Seattle. This event is weekend long with the race on Saturday, and a Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday and Friday prior the race. The race lengths are marathon, half marathon, or 8k. The starting line is on Broad Street, just north of Denny Way at the Seattle Center. The finish line is at Century Link Field on Occidental Ave. Spectators are welcome along the course, and the post-race activities include a concert.
