This year’s focuses include creating time to visit our national parks, environmental sustainability, good health, building communities, personal relationships and more. Believing that many Seattleites are over-scheduling themselves, the conference hopes to not only provide some practical solutions, but also serve as a retreat as well.

The Lullaby Project offers mothers placed in distressed situations a place to write a personal lullaby for their children which even includes a recording session to create a profession CD as a keepsake. Some to the songs written will be featured at the brunch. The brunch will be held on October 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are $30.

This year’s gala will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 and expected to sell out quickly. The night includes a cocktail hour, dinner, a raffle, silent auction, a “bling toss” and of course the signature Glitter Fashion Show showcasing outfits created from actual donated items to Goodwill. Tickets are $175 ($200 after Sept. 1).

www.ncascades.orgThe North Cascade Institute is hosting its biannual event getaway for those interested in residential environmental education programs at an environment that fosters the sharing of ideas, concerns and possible solutions from January 6-10, 2017. Operated in partnership with the National Park Service and City of Seattle, the Environmental Learning Center a place where people of all ages come to explore and learn of new programs. This year’s event cost is $325 per person and includes lodging and 12 meals.
